History of Chain Reaction Square Dance Club

Chain Reaction Square Dance Club was formed in 2003 by a group of A-level dancers who had no local club and looked into the possibility of starting their own club. Samlesbury War Memorial Hall near Preston was chosen as the base because of its proximity to the M6 motorway which meant it was easy for people to travel to, serves a large catchment area and has a large dance space.

The club was originally organised and called to by Jim Rowland, who travelled from Barnsley. Jim introduced Di Green who was a trainee caller at that time. Di Green is a wonderful caller and teacher who has taken the club from strength to strength, teaching and calling A1, A2 and C1 levels of Modern American Square Dance for us. We are lucky to have her as our caller and proud of her success.

We have enthusiastic members who support each other and the club, enjoy dancing and create a fun atmosphere. Visitors comment on how friendly the club is, so do please visit when you are in this area.
