Guidelines for Newsletter Contributions
Our regular newsletter depends on contributions from our members, really it is their newsletter setting out what they have been doing recently, with the emphasis on square dancing.
We want to make it as easy as possible for members to contribute, and with that in mind you can send items in almost any format, an email is very convenient, emails should be sent to the dedicated email address.
What makes an interesting contribution.
- A short piece that can be read quickly with headings and bullet points if appropriate.
- It is relevant to the club and contains content that can not be found elsewhere.
- It is something we can all relate to, perhaps common experiences.
- Relevant visual content

Visual content
Diagrams, photos, videos greatly enhance our newsletter and are always welcome and encouraged. Please send these separately from text. When visuals are embedded inside a document they can be difficult to extract. As with text, any format is acceptable, large files are acceptable too, if your visuals are too large to send in one email send them separately. For the more technical minded the size should be 1920 x 1080 pixels or more, a photo off a modern phone will be much larger than that.
Due to publishing regulations we need to confirm the copyright status of all visual content, that’s very simple, all you need to do is confirm that you are the copyright holder, which you are if you took the photo, or that you have permission for publication by the person who took the photo. By sending your photo you agree to it being used in the newsletter and / or website.
We will credit visual content as appropriate.
